What do I make?

What you make depends on what job you're trying to get.

For example, since I wanted to become a game UX designer, I created a case study on what VALORANT would look like if it was adapted to mobile.

If you want to go into fintech, evaluate your banking app.

There are two different paths you can choose between:

Identify a problem and redesign it

Look for apps or products that you enjoy or use frequently, and identify problems that you encounter in your day to day usage.

Are the menus perhaps difficult to get to? Is it hard to do something that you need to frequently repeat?

Add a new feature

Another way you can go about a case study is looking at what industry competitors might have that the current product lacks.

For example, you might want to integrate more of a sense of community into Spotify, so you look at SoundCloud and their comments feature. How would you add comments to Spotify? Would you have them on every song, or just the album / artist?
